So have you ever joined a fandom, noted the dominant pairing and just gone with the flow and tried to ship it? Sometimes that works out ok, but what about the times when you've waded through all the canon and the pairing just doesn't make sense to you so you let the ship sail away into the night.

I tried Destiel and failed. Just can't get it. I know there's subtext but all I feel is apathy towards them. I'm not even a Wincest shipper either.

I didn't ship Ted/ Robin when they were a thing in HIMYM and I can not stand Merlin/ Gwaine even though they offer some variety to Merlin/ Arthur.

What ships did you try?

Got addicted to a manga series, finished it and don't know what to do with myself

So I just read a 30+ manga series I just discovered from the first to the latest volume going straight the whole time. Then when I finished it I reread it. (Because obviously, I love it. And before you ask, it's Skip Beat, which yes I know many people don't care for but holy crap I adore it.)

The first read took me a month, and the second several weeks. And now that I'm finished again, I'm not sure what to do with myself. I've gotten into the habit of reaching to the side to pick up where I left my book for when I had a free moment. I don't feel much like reading anything else either. So yeah, it's bugging me to be reading like crazy for a while and then suddenly stopping.

We never really made rules for losing. So now I'm not sure what to do with myself.

Equality

So, when else is equality not equality. Because it's been brought to my attention that treating gay characters the same as straight characters isn't actually equality if you're talking about character death. Because losing one gay character on a six-character show equates to losing 50 percent of your gay characters. Unless, apparently, you're also going to kill off two straight characters to balance it.

I've been having a mood slump, and the stuff that usually cheers me up hasn't been working as well. Last time this happened, I marathoned Arrested Development, but since that show's kind of finished now... does anyone have any suggestions for tv series on Netflix streaming that are properly distracting?

I know I am not the only fan out there who doesn't ship anyone with anybody. I am just not into that aspect of fandom. If the writers don't write the characters as a couple, I don't feel like doing it outside of show/book/movie/etc.

LBGTQ recs

Right now, I'm feeling a need in my life for works of fiction that have LBGTQ protagonists/important characters, but whose sexuality is not the whole point of the story. I don't care about the medium, books, films, comics, whatever, I'd just really like to something that's good, with a queer character where everything isn't about the gender of the people they fancy.

I haven't been having much luck with finding things, so I thought I'd try crowdsourcing to people more knowledgeable than I. Any suggestions?

Yesterday we took a look at baby ducks, so today we're taking a look at adult ones! You might be wondering why- a duck's a duck, isn't it? But there are way more types of ducks than just the common mallard and mandarin, and many of them have specifically been bred for some purpose, be it to serve as ornamental ducks or for meat or eggs. Some ducks might've originally been farmed, but then been supplanted by more popular breeds and are now kept mostly as pets.

They also show a wide range of behaviour- the Indian Runner duck, as seen below, is particularly notable because it stands upright and instead of waddling, runs. You can take a look at some of them in a video here, and why they're surprisingly useful to have around if you've got a large garden.

And because this is still about cute- here's a video of some tiny ducks trying very hard to get over a step that's larger than they are. Determinded little birds.

i have a toy poodle and i put him in clothes all the time. my friend says it's wrong, but my dog really doesn't seem to mind. what do you think?

Does anyone know of a magic way to get deleted pictures back? I don't remember deleting them and the folder is still there so I would have had to either select all and delete or individually delete them. I've looked everywhere and am pretty sure I didn't relocate them.

Canon Vs. Fanon

So, I'm in the Merlin fandom and I ship Arthur/Merlin like mad. But I think I might be the only person who actually doesn't want it to ever happen in canon. I like Arthur and Gwen together, and it would be weird as fuck (and possibly derail the whole point of the show) if Arthur and Merlin actually got romantically involved in the series. It's just a fantasy I like to indulge in.

The thing is, I usually feel this way. I like canon the way it is. Am I the only one?
