My local paper did a story recently about Big Brothers Big Sisters being in desperate need of male volunteers, because something like five women sign up for every one man. I think this organization does great things, but it really upsets me that they place so much emphasis on pairing bigs and littles by sex.

I mean, sure, I get wanting to preferably match a kid with a like mentor (especially when you're dealing with boys who lack father figures), but it seems to me like at some point it would be better to say "rather than letting all these boys have nobody, why don't we see if any of these women have same-interests and are a good fit?"

Help me find a movie

Years and years back there was some movie I saw on TV, would've been anywhere between 1991 and 1993 but the movie might've been from the late 80s, it was about a woman stalked across the Texas wilderness by some scumbag who wanted the drugs (I think it was drugs) that her loser boyfriend had sewn into her pants. At one point she runs into a Texas Ranger and is seemingly saved, but he dies pretty quick.

So next week Minneapolis is electing a new mayor. Among the 35 candidates (because apparently all you needed was a $20) is a guy whose legal name is Captain Jack Sparrow and yes he dresses up.

So I got a new job. It is packaging shit and pretty boring so I can listen to my MP3 player. Anyone have any podcasts or radio shows to suggest? I enjoy (and listen to) Cabin Pressure and WTNV but other than that, I got nothing.

I have a presentation due this Thursday about how The Prince by Machiavelli and Utopia by Thomas More were received in their time period.

And I just can't find any information about this. I've looked through my books and tried googling just about anything I can think of regarding the subject and the only things that show up are stuff like modern criticisms of the two books.

And I'm not going to ask you guys to do my homework, but do any of you have any idea where I can find anything about this? Everything will be appreciated!

Has that ever happened to you? Listen to a random song somewhere and went 'hey, I used to like that song!', and do you try and listen to it again?
