Some ages ago I wondered if anyone would be up for watching Reboot together. Probably a Sunday. Well, it turns out I'm heading out of town this weekend, so that's out of the question. However I figure I need to make sure my laptop can still stream, so I'll be loading up a few eps of whatever tomorrow as a SHORT TEST STREAM.

In no particular order, the lineup will be:
-Exes and Ohs, a sitcom about a recently divorced lesbian and her group of friends trying to find love and meaning in their lives, also featuring a queer cafe that I keep wishing existed in my town. Nursejoy recced it to me, and despite my skepticism on the first eps it lived up to her hype. I remember crying a whole lot. It's a comedy.
- Darkwing Duck, the classical animated drama about idgaf it's darkwing duck.
- Steam Detectives, an anime I am pretty sure I still like.
- maybe a Youtube Video, because I'm curious to know how clear I stream a stream.

I mean, I like many older clothing styles. And I think it's kind of cool that they use old technology. But really, wanting to actually LIVE in the Victorian era? No vaccines, lynching and lack of rights for black people (in the US, where this couple live), no female suffrage, high child mortality... sheesh.

Serious Scenes That Have Been Ruined For You

I saw Se7en on TV yesterday and realized that I can't take the climatic, "What's in the box?" scene seriously. I've seen dozens of parodies and memes making fun of it. Brad Pitt's crying is used as a funny reaction GIF everywhere I go online. When I think of the scene now, I can't get the SNL song Dick In A Box out of my head. :|

My grandmother just passed away. Unlike when it was with my dad, the grief came immediately. When it was with dad, it took me a few weeks to get over the numbness before I could start crying, but not this time.

I feel so shitty because I was letting myself be too busy with RL that I missed her moment of passing, just like I did with my dad. I was busy with RL, true, but I wasn't that busy that I couldn't drop what I was doing to visit her (and his, back then) last moments. I'm such a fuck up for doing this twice.

And now I feel even more shitty because even if it's just in my head it feels like I'm making it about me and my fucking disappointment with myself and not of her passing.

Tl;DR everything's shit.

Is it possible to convince someone that they are loved? I know someone who thinks I'm the only person who cares about them because I go over the top when I'm friends with people, and I know a ton of people care about this person as well but they're less devoted to showing it and my friend is so depressed they don't see it. Is there any way I can persuade them or is it just something I'll have to watch my friend suffer through?

Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC questions (vague spoilers)

Has anyone here played the DAI DLC? (Pretty sure I remember one of you playing Jaws of Hakkon.)

If you have, which ones? Did you feel it was worth the money? In what order did you play them in?

IIRC Jaws of Hakkon can be done at any time, but it's a higher level DLC meant to be done near the end of the game. I know very little about The Descent (other than I fucking hate The Deep Roads but love dwarves, you can see how this is a problem), but people don't seem to be very enthusiastic about it.

(While new) Fandom seems to adore Trespasser and I know that I want to play that one for all the characters/story content, but it seems like you have to do it after everything else (correct me if I'm wrong!) and won't be able to come back to the game afterward.

So, I definitely want to play each one of these at some point, but not necessarily when they're at full cost. Trespasser I would be willing to pay full price for, but I'm not so sure about Jaws of Hakkon or The Descent. Should I go ahead and buy one of those then Trespasser later? I don't want to have to redo anything.

The Post-Modern Prometheus (X-Files spoilers)

I usually wait a while before posting about X-Files but I know an anon mentioned this episode was their favorite. HOLY CRAP! I can see why. This might be my favorite episode. At least in the top 5.

First off the music and sound design is fantastic. I love all the overdone lightning strikes. I love all the Cher music. The use of black and white is great.

I love how after Mulder and Scully looked after they got drugged. They just looked so done with this whole thing. And how they played off each other.

I love how the townspeople reacted to Mulder with the two news stories. I loved the actor playing the scientist (John O'Hurley?).

I knew it would end with the monster being intelligent but DAMN IT WAS AWESOME. I love the people and the animals. I love the ending. I love that that they went and saw "Cher". I am so glad that there was a happy ending even though it was completely uncharacteristic. This is a fever dream of an episode. I FUCKING LOVE IT.

Witcher 2 gameplay

Witcher 2 is currently for sale on Steam, with a very tempting price (only 3 bucks). The reviews I've seen all pries it, and it looks stunning. What I want to know is what the combat system is like, is it more DA:O, Or more Monster Hunter (press a button and it preforms a slash, things like that) which are the only 2 RPGs I've played.
