Dear FandomSecrets,

I really really like the idea and the feel of cuffs on my wrists. And while I've never worn one, the idea of a collar makes me happy. I'm not sure about the submission part, but it doesn't totally turn me off. The problem is, I'm asexual. The happiness and other feelings I get from the idea of cuffs and collars isn't at all sexual. I feel confused and like my desires (and lack of) are conflicting. Like cuffs and collars and stuff are only supposed to be paired up with kinky sex or something. Anyone have any advice or similar feelings?

I actually prefer this movie too... I know, I know. Fail. It's just the effects are so pretty, and the 80's movie scene isn't my thing. (It's funny; I love 80's music but hate most of the movies, whereas my sister hates the music but is obsessed with the movies.)

Completely different dynamics, that's why. If that Spock was younger I would probably ship them too, I just am not into couples with such visible extreme differences (mostly because it makes me sad that they can't run around doing crazy stuff together, because that is part of my ideal dynamic, so it is totally just a preference thing).

If it makes you feel better, I have never been secret about how much I dislike the Lambo twins and how fanon warped their characters into something mundane and irritating. I have yet to encounter fandom pitchforks aimed in my direction.

If you hate them as a pairing, having them reconcile in canon would probably be a terrible thing for you. XD There would be a flood of people shipping them and fics, art, etc.

It would be cool for that to happen though. I could totally get behind it.

I don't often say this, but I think you're genuinely missing out. If you didn't like the others, I'd say there's no point in bothering to see it. However, since you do like the others, I don't see how you could find this one not worth watching. Personally, I found the first one to be pretty boring and won't rewatch it, given the choice, but I love the second one. There's so much that happens and there's so many great character moments.

The Hobbit was the only book I actually enjoyed of Tolkien's (because I am a horrible geek when it comes to plot and/or world-centric storylines), and it stands as a childhood favorite that made me fall in love with riddles. (Riddles in the Dark is my favorite chapter, ever).

AND THIS MOVIE IS COMING OUT, AND IT'S GOING TO BE AWESOME, AND, AND-

I do think that Saldana Uhura will become more like Nichelle Uhura as time goes on. She is young, trying to prove herself in a male-dominated environment, and not comfortable with the Main Character. As she becomes more comfortable in her abilities, I think she will be more like Nichelle Uhura in vibe.

And Nichelle Uhura kicked ass. I still love how she slapped a bitch in the Mirror Verse. She is fierce and awesome. But yes, I think it is the elegant poise she has that makes me prefer her interpretation more.

Actually, OP, I completely agree with you. I mean, it's a little nice to be fav'd regardless. But when I look at someone's profile and they have 5000+ "favorites," it kind of takes some of the shiny away.

I wouldn't say I found it underwhelming exactly, but I definitely didn't enjoy it as much as everyone else seemed to. After it first aired, the consensus seemed to be that this was the best episode ever and that the show should have been set in the future from the jump. I felt very alone in liking that the story wasn't always taking place in year 2019.

I also didn't give a toss about Felicia Day's character.
