But the rules are kind of complicated, and I can't find anywhere that looks like a good place to ask for clarification. Does anyone here feel up to answering a bunch of questions about the rules and how they're actually implemented?

Dear fandom friend, you're very sweet and I love you and I *am* grateful that you noticed my obsession for a new fandom. And I am trying to see what you gave me as well intentioned, but, really, cookie-cutter-paste-characters-name OOC fic with a note saying "bwahahaha still haven't watch it and writing fic anyway"? Thanks but no thanks. I feel insulted instead by your accidental belittlling of something I love.
What would *really* please me were you actually watching it and forging your own opinion on it. Even if you end up deciding you don't like it. If you don't want to watch it, then don't pretend you want to be involved with it!

Honestly, at this point (and not just because of this) I'm at the point where I can't take anyone who is "anti-brony" seriously, and not think they're a jackass. What all have they done? First faked child-abduction claims, this, all the complaining, while the evil bronies do things like clean up google safe searches, and raise money for people.

I don't even watch the fucking show.

Talk about difficulties in writing it, motivations for wanting to write it, fun research you've had to do, interesting experiences you've had while writing or thinking about it, worries you have about it, etc. And be specific about the fandom!

Fandom Dilemma

Well, maybe a Trilemma. Or something. I'm not certain how many lemmas or variations of lemmas I have to choose from.

I was a huge part of a fandom for many years. And every year, I ran a contest, with the prizes paid out of my own pocket and a lot of organization involved that I handled myself. And though it was a lot of work and a bit of stress, it was really fun and I liked it.

But in the last year all my interest in the fandom has dropped away.
And I'm still expected to run this contest this year, and I know people look forward to it. Any other year I would have gently explained to everyone that I'm leaving the fandom and tried to give someone else the reigns, but unfortunately this year coming up is a milestone year, and it seems very odd to stop right now. I know that I can definitely say with this year's contest, "This will be the _th and final contest run by me, as I'm choosing to end on a high note!"

Strictly speaking I could run the contest and even track down the prizes (though that part would be a little more painful than the rest). I just really don't feel like it. Which makes me feel like kind of a terrible person. So I dunno, what would you do?

Workout goals

I am ridiculously out of shape, but dammit, I am going to get to an hour straight on the elliptical machines eventually!

(Yes, I am *that* out of shape. I mean, I could do it on the easy settings, but I don't want to to it on the easy settings, that's cheating.)

I also want to get to 300lb on the leg press, but I don't know if that's realistic.

Anyone else have workout goals?

Hair and scars -- help me fix my face?

So when I was in high school, I became self-conscious about my moustache and started plucking it. I knew you weren't supposed to do it that way, but waxing didn't work unless the hair was a certain length and my hair was so dark and wiry I couldn't wait. So I just kept plucking away. Now the skin on my upper lip is really coarse and bumpy from being gnawed at by tweezers, and I have what looks like a permanent five-o-clock shadow. But that's not the worst part. Yesterday I accidentally pulled off a patch of skin and probably gave myself a permanent scar -- a big dark spot where the skin was torn. I know, it's gross and I'm stupid.

So a couple of questions:

Is there anything I can do to help the scar not be permanent, or to help fade it if it is? Scar cream treatments that work? Right now I'm just putting a bandaid on the raw spot and some anti-bacterial cream, and trying not to touch it. Any other suggestions?

Also, I'd like to somehow let my stache grow out so that the skin there can heal -- is there anything that won't remove the hair, but will make it softer and thinner? I keep getting told that waxing does this, but it hasn't happened with my legs -- I've waxed them for years and the hair is as dense and dark as ever. Barring that, is there anything I can use to remove hair that won't fuck up my skin AND doesn't require growing out the hair to Bob Belcher lengths?

I can't afford lasers and if there's any chance the hair will grow back, I'm not sure it's worth it. I tried electrolysis for a year in high school and the hair always grew back in a week or two, so I'm not keen to try it again.
