31 volumes? Holy shit. I'm so glad I stopped at 11+ volumes.

For me, their relationship becoming the main and only focus of the manga was the reason I quit. I was more interested in 'one awesome girl and four guys sharing awesome adventures together as best friends'. I guess if I shipped Sunako/Kyohei I would've cared more.

The early volumes were awesome, but after 7 volumes the plot kinda lost its shine. I wanted more freaky Sunako, and none of that "underneath it all she's just like other girls" BS.

I guess the reason why nothing's changed after 31 volumes, it's safe to say that the author hit a jackpot, and the fans like what they get. So why stop?

Because people ship people.

I mean, they ship canon straight characters in slash fics, or make gay characters fall for the opposite gender. They ship people who never showed any chemistry on screen - hell they ship people who never met on screen.

I can totally see how people see Sherlock as asexual in canon (as you say, a lot of hints were dropped - but even then, I wouldn't expect there to be any less shipping or smut fic.

Aw, I don't know -- I thought Hilda's death scene was pretty sad...! However, his relationship with Lena -- the love interest who, y'know, didn't die -- was the one who tugged on my heartstrings the most.

But yeah, this whole scene is rather depressing too, I agree.

I could probably count the number of times I've shipped an x-over pairing on one hand. IDK, but they just don't tend to interest me.

But good luck finding fic that suits your interests! Is there an SGU kink meme? Or maybe an active LJ comm? If you're brave, you could even check tumblr.

I'm not in the fandom myself but if you haven't already tried those things (and you probably have), you might aught to.
